How work is organized in WIRE
WIRE organizes services around projects and activities. The provider and client explain who delivers and receives the service; the project gives context and the activity represents specific work.
Four connected concepts
Section titled “Four connected concepts”| Concept | What it represents |
|---|---|
| Provider | The organization delivering services. |
| Client | Whoever receives the provider’s services. |
| Project | The space that brings work and participants together; it can be linked to a client. |
| Activity | A specific request or task, with assignees, a date, status and details. |
Contacts are the people who participate on the client’s behalf. Operators belong to the team delivering the service.
The same example
Section titled “The same example”North Team is the provider and River Center is its client. The “River Center Services” project brings the team’s work together. A service visit is one activity within that project.
Comments and photos from the visit stay with that activity, rather than as disconnected information about the client.
Where to look for information
Section titled “Where to look for information”To understand the service or its participants, start with the project. To find out what happened during a visit, request or task, open the activity.
Your access determines which projects and information you can see. Not finding an item does not necessarily mean it does not exist.
